Drones that Recharge mid Flight:

Using technology that was first used by Nikola Tesla, a drone's battery can be set up to charge hovering four inches above a charging station. Using inductive coupling, engineers at Imperial College of London we able to turn a drone right out of the store into one that is capable of charging while hovering. There was a charging station made using copper wire, a power source, and a circuit board. then the battery of the drone was wrapped in copper wire, allowing the drone to charge when it hovers over the station. The product is not currently in production, but the researchers are looking for a partner to develop it commercially with. Using this technology drones could be used for many things like repairs in very hard to reach places or for military use. This technology will probably stick around, even though it isn't exactly new, just being applied to something in a new way. It will most likely cost similar to what drones cost now, but slightly more expensive because of things like the charging station you would have to buy too. It is not yet known when this will be available, but when it i, it will probably be pretty significant.
