In the Holiday House project, we used AutoCAD and Illustrator to design a holiday themed house or building to be laser-cut. I chose to design (roughly) my grandparents' house. Their house had many complicated features that I would not be able to include given the material provided, and then some. Plus I wanted to add small lights onto it so they can use it as a decoration. I included some trees inside, an old telephone booth they have in the backyard, and also a larger tree near the phone booth.
Holiday House
This is a picture from the tree inside the house. The first floor ended up being a little too short because I didn't take the 1/8" thickness of the plywood into consideration, but it can be good to learn from my mistakes. It still worked out because I was able to glue it along the side of the house.
This is just a picture of the partially put together house. It has the front and right side with the phone booth in the back.
This tree goes in the back of the house and has lights on it. It was difficult to cut out because it is so thin and fragile plus it was first cut in a place on the wood that had a knot in it. but it ended up looking great and I only broke off one small piece when trying to put it together.
This is one a several views of the house. In this view, you can't see the tree inside.
